Lela McNary

Lela Pearl (Cobbins) McNary was born April 20, 1949 in Douglassville, Texas to the parentage of John and Pearl Cobbins, Jr. She attended Carver Elementary School from 1956-1965. She graduated from Carver High School in Omaha, Texas in 1968. Lela went on to pursue an education at Jarvis Christian College in Hawkins, Texas from 1968-1969. She also attended McKinney Job Corps for Women from 1970-1971.

She was united in marriage to Price McNary on November 22, 1993. Lela worked many years as a medication aide, serving her community. She will be remembered for her zest for life, love, and wisdom that she shared with all who knew her. 

She was preceded in death by both parents; husband; three brothers, H.C. Cobbins, Norris Cobbins, and Horace Cobbins; one sister, Gracie Mae Boyd; and one grandchild. 

She leaves to cherish her memory: four sons, Lawrence Cobbins (Aisha), and Vishon Cobbins, of Omaha, Michael Cobbins (Catina) of Kokomo, IN, and Marcus Cobbins (Amy) of Bunker Hill, IN; brother, Curtis Cobbins of Mt. Pleasant; sister, Lue M. Hood of Omaha; 15 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and two very special friends. 

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2019 at First Baptist Church in Omaha. Burial will follow at Bell Haven Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.
