Today we celebrate the life of Linda Pearl Van Ness Adams, born October 31, 1939 and entered into her eternal home on November 15, 2025.  Linda was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Weldon Holmes Adams, her mother, Mary Jane Van Ness and her father, George Van Ness.  She is survived by her three daughters, Terri Adams Ford (Michael), Lori Adams Byrd (Steve), Tonni Adams Jackson (Lee); Grandchildren: Rand Ford Perez, Jared Ford, Clint Ford (Angelina), Craig Byrd (Alicia), Stephani Byrd Laird (Cole), Chad Byrd, Harmon Jackson (Abigale), Jeremiah Jackson, Jonathan Jackson and Levi Jackson; Great grandchildren: Austin Ford, Gage Ford, Ian Perez, Cole Perez, Jett Ford, Thomas Laird and Lillian Laird; Sister: Krista Barthen; one niece; and 3 nephews.

Linda was a pastor’s wife who faithfully ministered along side her husband and his ministry throughout their married life.  She was a Christian example as a mom and raised her daughters to put Christ first in their life.  Linda loved watching The Waltons, making fudge, baking, making Mexican food, she loved the color pink and by no means would leave home without her trademark lipstick. Linda taught many years in Christian schools, then later years retired as Dean of Education at Louisiana Baptist University.  She spent her adult life serving and teaching children of all ages.  She loved her church and being involved in women’s ministries as well as supporting missionaries around the world.  Linda was faithful to her Lord and Savior for over 60 years and is now standing in His presence beside Weldon, the love of her life.

  2. Candle 4Mrs. Adams was a wonderful women and a great Christian that was truly an encouragement to me. She always smiled and tried to do what ever she could to be a help I really appreciated that. She will truly be missed but I will see her later. Rest easy Mrs. Adams. ❤️🙏🏾❤️

  3. Linda Adams was such a dear sweet friend. I was so blessed to have her as an example and a wellspring of wisdom. I enjoyed sitting by her in the choir for years. And eating at Nikki’s will never be the same without her and Bro Adams. I will miss her till we meet again.

  4. Candle 5Our sincere sympathy to all the family of Linda Adams. Our heart goes out to you in your great loss. Linda will be missed by family and her friends. We always enjoyed our little talks when we visited Shreveport Baptist Temple. Linda is rejoicing in heaven with her precious husband Bro. Adams. Praying for the family.

  5. Candle 5Thomas Jerald (Jerry) Cobb. Linda was one of my favorite cousins. We often played together when we were young. I remember playing “office” where I was the ‘boss’ and she was my secretary, kinda like what we would see in movies. She would answer the phone and take messages and I would dictate letters to her to type and send. Unfortunately, as we grew older we were not able to visit as much as we would have liked (her in Shreveport and me in Oklahoma City). The phone and e-mail contacts were no substitute for real visits. I do know that some day we will meet again.
