Services for Ms. Lorene Heath, 96, of Naples will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Williams Chapel Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Ms. Heath will lie in state from 12:00 noon until 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Lorene Anita Parker Heath was born 2/3/1924 in Morris County (Naples, TX) to the late Cleveland and Sally Parker. She was the third of six children. She is preceded in death by her brother Leslie Parker and her sisters Ona Mae Craney, Bernice Porter, T.C. Evans, and Beaty Ruth Parker.
Lorene accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and acknowledged this by uniting with Williams Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. She served as Sunday School secretary for many years, the Financial Secretary for numerous years and was the oldest active member. She sang in the church choir actively until her last day of attendance. Lorene loved the Lord with all her heart and when she was not in church she was getting ready to go to church.
She received her education from Carver High School and was a gardener by trade. In 1942, she married the love of her life Mulkey Heath Sr. Mr. Heath preceded his wife in death on May 7, 2012. To Mulkey and Lorene’s union four children were born: Roceythia (Pwee) Tillmon-Pollard of Borger, TX; Mulkey (Butch) Heath Jr. of Amarillo, TX; Alton Heath (Janice) of De Soto, TX; and Sandra (Sambo) Heath-Thompson of Dallas, TX. Five grandchildren: Robert (Chief) Tillmon of Tyler, TX; Robinette (Robin) Tillmon of Tyler, TX; Yuvetta (Vette) Heath who preceded her in death on September 25, 2019; Jonathan Heath of Dallas, TX and Lakeisha (KeKe) Heath of Dallas, TX. Four great grandchildren: Jordan Monge of Houston, TX; Lanier Dallas of Chino, CA; Jacob Heath of Dallas, TX and Micah Heath of Dallas, TX. Lorene was a special mother figure to Sally Buford of Naples, TX; LaTwayne Saunders of Mt. Pleasant, TX; Lester Heath of Los Angeles, CA; Carolyn Jones of Naples, TX; Carlton (Angela) Ivery of Cason, TX; Harold (Sheila) Lewis of Mt. Pleasant, TX; Cynthia Hayden of Omaha, TX; Myrtle Benson of Fort Worth, TX and Dean Hearon of Lubbock, TX. She is also survived by special family Joe L. Evans of Daingerfield, TX and Travis Williams of Fort Worth, TX.
All of our mother’s friends were special to her and for fear that we might have missed someone’s name, we would like to acknowledge you. You know who you are because she had special moments with each of you. Cherish those moments.
