Funeral services for Louisa Pauline Dowell, 75, will be 2:30 p.m., Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, of Hughes Springs. Mrs. Dowell will lie in state from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m., Friday with a time of visitation from 6 until 8 Friday evening at the funeral home. Louisa Dowell was born July 16, 1937 to the late Jakie and Gracie Bolden, in Avinger, Texas. The second of six children, was called to rest on April 26, 2013. She joined Mt. Moriah Baptist Church at an early age and was a faithful member until her health failed. She attended and graduated from Traylor High School in Hughes Springs, Texas. She met and married Willie V. Dowell and to this Union six children were rendered. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Willie B. Linwood; two sisters, Ernestine Winslett, and Arthur Lena Bolden. She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving and devoted husband of 54 years, Willie V. Dowell; four daughters, Janet (William) Chism, of Lone Star, Texas, Dennie Kaye Dowell, of Euless, Texas, and Karen Dowell and Kimberly Dowell, of Avinger; one step-daughter, Yolanda (Gerald) Hatten, of Hughes Springs; two sons, Willie Lynn Dowell, of Avinger, Texas, and Daren Dowell, of Pittsburg, Texas; one brother, Earnest Bolden, of Avinger, Texas; one sister, Johnetta Bolden, of Dallas, Texas; 14 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a special adopted grandson, John Chandler.; one special friend, Peggy Samueal, of California, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
