Mable Hampton Hall, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2025, at the age of 100. Born on April 19, 1925, in Cass County, Texas, to Floyd Lee and Zula Crossland Hampton, Mable lived a full and beautiful life rooted in faith, family, and service to others.
A woman of grace, strength, and enduring kindness, Mable was known for her impeccable style and remarkable talents in the home. Long before Martha Stewart became a household name, she was mastering the arts of cooking, sewing, and homemaking. A gifted seamstress, she crafted beautiful dresses and draperies for her family and community for many years. She also found great joy in gardening and canning, ensuring her loved ones were always surrounded by the fruits of her labor, usually in the form of preserves.
Deeply devoted to her church and community, Mable was an active member of several local organizations, including the United Methodist Women, Eastern Star, Red Radiance Garden Club, Sesame Literary Club, and The Wildflower Trails of Texas. Her faith was central to her life, and her compassion extended far beyond her family to friends and neighbors alike.
Mable was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Zula Hampton, her sister, Faye Wilson, and her soulmate and husband, Vesta “Myrle” Hall. Together, Mable and Myrle built a life filled with laughter, devotion, and unwavering support for one another. Their bond remains a shining example of lifelong partnership and love.
She leaves behind a devoted and adoring family: her daughter, Deborah Cody; her son, Dante Hall and his wife, Janelle; her grandchildren, Rex Cody and his wife, Hillary; Collyn Cody Land and her husband, Cooper; Grant Hall and his wife, Sabrina; and her bonus grandchildren: Katie and Keres Fite, Becca and Erik Fite, and Laura and Kent Fite. Her great-grandchildren, Bryce, Carson, and Trace Cody, as well as Eli and Luke Land, brought her immense joy and pride. She is also survived by her nephews, Cliff Hall and Kerry Wilson; her great-nephew, Evan Hall; and her nieces, Cindy Gibson and Brooke Hall.
Mable’s legacy is one of love, generosity, faith, and quiet strength. She touched countless lives through her open heart, her tireless hands, and her steadfast spirit. Her family will forever cherish her memory and the traditions she passed down. They are sewn into fabric, baked into recipes, planted in gardens, and lived out in the values she instilled.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hughes Springs Methodist Church.

What a wonderful lady Mable always truly was, and what a gift to everyone who knew her. Deborah, Dante and families thank you for taking such good care of her that she lived so long! With love and our sympathy, Betsy & Lyle
I have admired Mrs. Mable for so many years. She was always so elegant! Sincere sympathy to all of her family.
Rest in Peace, my beautiful and wonderful friend.
Time spent with marble and Katherine are special memories. She shared flowers from her garden and made sure I knew how to take care of them. She was by far the prettiest woman in Hughes Springs! And the kindest! Will be greatly missed.
