Funeral services for Mrs. Margie Ruth Edmond, 80, of Cason, Texas, will be 12:00 p.m. Monday, September 8, 2025, at Oak Grove Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.  There will be a time of viewing from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.

Margie Ruth Everett Edmond  (Shugga Momma) was born April 4, 1945 in Morris County to J. T. and Sedailure Everett.  Margie was the youngest daughter of eight children.  Margie accepted Christ in her life at an early age at Mt. Mitchell Church of Christ and was later a member of Oak Grove Church of Christ.

Margie  completed all aspects of her grade school education at J. J. Rhoads Heights.  She enjoyed a very fulfilling high school years as a majorette.  In 1965 Margie married the love of her life James Earl Edmond and they were blessed to enjoy forty-four years of matrimony.  To this union five children were born; Victor, Teresa, Steven, Meloney, and Stanley Edmond. Through the years Margie was employed at Daingerfield ISD in the cafeteria at West Elementary.  She was blessed as a caregiver for her father, J. T., and two sisters; Shirley and Pearl.  Margie was loved and cared for throughout the duration of her illness by her children, two special nieces; Chiquita and Jessica.  Her daughter, Meloney, gave so much of herself to make sure her mother was taken care of every step of the way right up until the very end.

Margie was proceeded in death by her parents; J. T. and Sedailure Evertt; husband, James Earl Edmond; sons; Victor and Steve Edmond, brother; John (Big Jim), and her sister; Georgie Pearl (best friend).

Left to cherish her memories are: her children; Teresa (Eric) Peel of Longview, Meloney Edmond of Cason, and Stanley (Allyson) Edmond of Bettie, Texas, two daughter-in-laws; Jane and Jennifer Edmond, grandchildren which were the lights of her life; Erica (Dione), Reggie, Tomasina, Germayne (Jessica), Alex (Cesly), Steve (Elliana), Victor (Kasinda), Tyler (CJ), Victoria, Jaden, and Anissa. She was blessed to have seventeen great-grand children with Khylee being her oldest and closest.
