Memories Timeline

Guestbook

    • I am saddened to receive the news about Marty. We worked together for many years at Freeman. He was a good man and did all he could his clients.

He possessed a great sense of humor. And he was loyal to his friends

    • I am devastated by this news! Marty you were a sweet and dear special friend❀️
      RIPπŸ™

    • Marty was the most kind hearted man I knew. His waters ran deep. I will miss him dearly and am truly blessed that we continued to remain in touch after our days at Freeman. His memory will live on with me. He used to say to me ” I am not gay or anything but” then he would say something nice. Rest in peace my friend.

  1. Candle 2God bless you Marty, kind, gentle, loving, funny friend. So glad to have known you! Be at Peace now, no more hurt, no more sickness, no more suffering. Now in God’s hands ❀️

  2. Candle 2The world will be empty without my dear friend, Marty. He was such a sweet, kind, lovable man who was always a joy to be around. I loved him very much and am so saddened that I can’t hug him and tell him how special he has always been. The birds in heaven are singing louder for you, Marty. God bless, and know that I will never forget you.

  3. Candle 2β€œSo sorry to hear about Marty’s passing. My brothers and I have many, many fond memories of growing up with him in Tullahoma. From roadtrips to Lake Tansi in the back of his Alvie’s truck to football games at Bel Aire school, Marty was a big part of our childhood. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.

    RIP Marty

  4. Candle 8Aw, Marty – you were a β€œgoodun”. So sad for this news. You will be missed. ❀️

  5. Candle 2I am sorry to hear this news. There are so many great memories and stories that me and my Dad share when we get together. Marty and my brother Mike were great friends and we are so greatful for that. We are sad here on earth but they are celebrating in Heaven.

  6. To Marty’s family – Sonja and Wren…sister and family, all of the Kappa Sigma brothers and work-place friends…

Marty was no doubt one of a kind…a dear and kind friend. Wickedly funny and generous to a fault.

So many memories flooding my mind – one especially of meeting Marty while I was in high-school (Farragut) with my then boyfriend Michael Bland. All I know for sure today is that he and Mike are dancing on the streets of gold together!

Marty will be missed, his sweet demeanor will be remembered, and his gentle spirit will live on in all our minds that knew him.

I’m terribly sorry for your loss, but know that Marty made a HUGE impact in my own life and many many others.

    Love and peace,

    Leslie Prude Reid

  7. God bless you and your family Marty, you were always a good friend to me and my family! I will always remember the good times, big smiles and loud laughter that we shared.

    Godspeed my friend.

  8. I have many fond memories with my dear friend Marty
He cared and looked out for everyone, a very kind soul to all that knew him
I will miss you dearly. Thank you for your kindness to Julie and I

I love you man and will forever cherish the memories we had together,
    forever grateful for our friendship

  9. Candle 2Marty, I love you and will miss you dearly buddy. I’ll never forget the time you came to Boston and stayed with Lynn and me. We went to the Patriots vs Cowboys game, only to watch the Pats steal one from your Boys with seconds remaining on the clock (I tried my best not to gloat). I know you’ll be watching on Sundays from above…

My thoughts and prayers go out to your family and friends.

  10. Marty, you were my brother. My heart stopped when I got the news of your passing. We had just spoke not but a week before and I knew something was up. We’ve known each other for nearly 30 years and I always considered you a very close friend. I wish you peace and happiness and I will miss you greatly my friend. Until we meet again….Peace.
