Funeral services for Mary Helen Adams, 87, of Hughes Springs, will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at Hughes Springs Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Concord Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. There will be a time of visitation from 6 until 8 Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Mrs. Adams was born August 23, 1927 in Hughes Springs and passed away November 3, 2014 at her home. She was a member of Hughes Springs Missionary Baptist Church and worked for many years at the Linden Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard V. Adams; son, Richard V. Adams, Jr.; parents, Mallis and Lilla Williams; three brothers, Bobby Williams, Edward Williams, and Irvin Williams; three sisters, Carol Ann Younger, Delma Almond, and Maybelle Taylor. She is survived by two daughters, Linda Ritmo and husband Joseph of Marshall and Mary Adams of Hughes Springs; one son, David Adams and wife Linda of Hughes Springs; brothers, Donald Williams of Hughes Springs; sisters, LaNell Simmons and Sondra McDaniel, both of Hughes Springs; grandchildren, Joseph and Evangelina Ritmo of Balch Springs, Texas, Kelly and Grant Holland of Longview, Erica and Ronnie Chittenden of Longview; and great-grandchildren, Janet and Ashley Ritmo of Balch Springs, Texas

  1. So sorry to hear about Aunt Mary its hard to lose your Momma but Aunt Mary and my Momma are no longer hurting and they can live together without pain and keep each company rejoicing with others that have gone before them.

  2. My husband and I were her neighbors for a few years and she was such a sweet lady! Always a kind word and sweet smile.

  3. Mrs. Mary was a special lady in our hearts and lives while we had the opportunity to have her in our lives while we were at Missionary Baptist. She had the light of Christ shining through her. Many prayers and thoughts for her family as you all morn the loss of her on this earth.

  4. We will really miss this beautiful lady. Unfortunately we will not be able to make it to the memorial service. We will be thinking of you in this difficult time.

  5. We will truly miss you Aunt Mary!! You were a wonderful, beautiful lady inside & out!! We love you very much & I know you're dancing up there with the Lord & no longer feeling pain.

  6. The sweetest lady I've ever known inside and out. She was loved by everyone. Prayers for the family. She will be truly missed. Heaven has another wonderful angel.
