Mary Holloman Williams

Mrs. Mary Holloman Williams was born February 24, 1932 in Scott County, Mississippi. She moved to Texas at seven years old, and graduated from Paris High School, where she was active in sports. After graduation, she married Sgt. Winfred Holloman and moved to Goodfellow Air Force Base in San Angelo. She was active in Girl Scouting while in San Angelo. During her husbands military career, the family traveled throughout the country. In the early sixties, they moved to Longview. While in Longview, she served on the board of the American Red Cross, taught First Aid for the East Texas Police Academy in Longview and Tyler, and she worked for the Gilmer Police Department and Gregg County Sheriffs Offices. After an early retirement she and her husband traveled throughout the country in their 34 foot mobile home. Her first husband died in 1989 after 39 years of marriage. She married Gordon Williams in 1992, and joined First Baptist Church, where she remained a member after his death in 2008. She is survived by two daughters, Kay Cowan and husband Mike, of Morrilton, Arkansas, and Cheryl Pharris and husband Kermit, of Alexandria, Louisiana; one son, Steve Williams and wife Marie, of Daingerfield; one granddaughter, Krissy Payne; one grandson, Slade Payne; one brother, Maurice Osborn and wife Kay, of Midlothian; and several other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Reeder-Davis Chapel with Bro. Daniel Bramlett officiating. There will be a time of visitation an hour prior to the service.
