Mary Lene Hatten-Hill, daughter of Debron Hatten, Sr. and Willie Mae Turner-Hatten, was born on August 31, 1939 in Cass County, TX.  Mrs. Hill graduated from Traylor High School, Hughes Springs, TX.   She worked for Lone Star Army Ammunition Plant in Texarkana, TX for three years.   Mary went on to retire from Hughes Springs Independent School District after 35 years.  She gave her life to Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Liberty Methodist Church, Hughes Springs, TX.

Mary Hatten-Hill accepted her wings and entered eternal peace on September 12, 2019.  We thank God for sharing Mary with us.  No words can express how much she was loved and will be missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Debron Hatten, Sr. and Willie Mae Turner-Hatten; three brothers, James Hatten, Morris Hatten, Bobby Hatten; three sisters, Elsie Adams, Evelyn Peppers and Shirley Johnson. 

She is survived by her husband, Vernice Hill; daughter, Monica Hill of Hughes Springs, TX; god-grandson, Kamron Humble of Arlington, TX; two brothers, Debron Hatten, Jr. and wife Helen of Hughes Springs, TX, Carl Earl Hatten and wife Bessie of Marietta, TX and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Services for Mrs. Mary Hill, 80, of Hughes Springs will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 19, 2019 at Reeder-Davis Chapel. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Mrs. Hill will lie in state from 12:00 noon until 5:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

  8. One of the sweetest persons I've ever met my entire life. My whole school life she would tell my classmates that I was her second daughter when we would come thru her line. She was such a joy to just talk to every time we seen each other. I love and miss you Mama Mary.
