Melvalon Williams was born March 17, 1962 to the late George and Ruby (Franklin) Williams of Omaha.
She was baptized at an early age, joining the Mt. Moriah Church family. She attended Daingerfield ISD.
She worked at Pilgrims Pride and in home health until her disability. She had a passion for cooking for others. She loved the outdoors and most of all she loved family gatherings.
Preceding her in death are her parents, George and Ruby (Franklin) Williams; a sister, Betty Lewis; a brother, Alton Wilkerson; a grandson, great-niece, and two great-nephews.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Eric Williams (Jarwanda), Charles Williams, Desmond Williams ( Laquita), Tacedi Williams, all of Omaha; Taurus Sanders of Texarkana, Ketemya Hurnden (Amber) of Paris, TX, Maria Hurnden of Tyler, and LaKrista Hurnden (Antonio); four sisters, Mary Williams, Vivian Woodward (Kelly) of Omaha, Ruby Jewel Stoker (Robert) of Daingerfield, ZsaZsa Turner of White Oak; three brothers, James Williams (Michelle) of Pittsburg, TX, Eddie Williams (Marnita) of Naples, Elliot Wilkerson of Pittsburg, TX; eight aunts and three uncles; 17 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.Services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Daingerfield. Burial will follow at Rivers Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Ms. Williams will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
