Melvin Gholston

Funeral services for Melvin L. Gholston, 62, will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 18, 2014 at Shady Grove Christian Church. Burial will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. There will be a time of visitation from 6 until 8 Thursday evening at the funeral home. Mr. Melvin L. Gholston was born to Marvin and Bobbie Gholston. He passed from this earth on April 15, 2014. Melvin attended school in the Cason and Daingerfield-Lone Star ISD. He worked at TuboScope in Lone Star for a number of years and he was employed at Smith Doors in Arkansas until he retired. He is preceded in death by his father, Marvin Gholston and his grandparents, Cliff and Anna Smith. He leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Bobbie Gholston; four sisters, Marvelous Gholston, Rachael Gholston, Barbara Gholston all of Cason, and Machelle McGary of Dallas; two brothers, Harold Gholston (Linda) of Cason, and Earnest Gholston of Pittsburg; three sons, Gerald Gholston and Michael Gholston of Mt. Pleasant and Fredrick Gholston of Tyler; one daughter, Felicia Gholston of Tyler; eight grandchildren; four aunts, Variene Smith, Mable Smith, and Thelma Mitchell of Cason and Charlesetta Gholston of Midlothian; three uncles, Arthur Lee, C. W. and Robert Smith of Cason; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
