Funeral services for Mikell Wakefield, 66 of Hughes Springs, will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday April 17, 2014 at Reeder-Davis Chapel. Burial will follow at County Line Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home of Hughes Springs. There will be a time of visitation from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Wakefield was born September 30, 1947 and passed away April 14, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harve and Florence Wakefield. He is survived by son, Lonnie Wakefield and wife Monique ; daughter, Leaslie Wakefield; sister, Phyllis Keslin and husband Ray; grandchildren: Cole and Kane Wakefield, Ivyanna Ortega; and a host of nieces and nephews.

We are so very sorry to learn of the pass of Mr. Mikell. Know you are all in our thoughts and prayers during this very painful time.
No longer will we be separated by distance. Uncle Mike is free to be everywhere and with us all. Now he visits with Granny, Grandpa Harve, Lonnie, and Dad while watching over the rest of us until we meet again. My love and prayers go out to all our family.
It is with deep sympathy that I say goodbye to my Uncle Mike. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family during this time of greif.
Sending my love and prayers to Lonnie, Leslie and Aunt Phyllis-so sorry we can not make the service. May Uncle Mike now rest in peace and be reunited with Grandma, Grandpa, Dad and Uncle Jim.
