Milton Caver Jr.

Milton Caver, Jr., 76, of Linden, TX better known as Junior, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017 at his home.
Milton, Jr. was born September 14, 1940 in Atlanta, TX to Milton and Evelyn George Caver. He was a member of the 1958 graduating class of Linden High School, attended Baylor University, East Texas State University and Gupton Jones School of Mortuary Science in Dallas, TX. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Linden.
He was a funeral director for 47 years, having owned Hanner-Caver Funeral Home for many years and then worked for Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home in Linden. He was always fair, honest and had compassion for all the people he served.
Milton was an avid sports fan, being a follower of Linden-Kildare Tigers, Carthage Bulldogs, Baylor Bears, Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks and also an avid golfer.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Mary Fielder.
Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Romie Caver of Linden; sons and daughter-in-law, Brian and Karen Caver of Carthage and Gary Caver of Linden; grandson, Andrew Caver of Center, TX; three step-grandsons, Brandon, Trevon and Cason Bishop of Carthage; sister, Mary Jane Caver of Forney; two nieces, Nikki Witherspoon and husband Brian of Forney, and Karista Rozales of Forney; brother-in-law and wife, Billy and Hulene Powell of Marshall, TX; sister-in law and husband, Carolyn and Buddy Houston of Farmers Branch, TX; and several other relatives and friends.
Services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday March 25, 2017 at First Baptist Church Linden with Bro. Jackie Stanfield officiating. Burial will be at Linden Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., Friday evening at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Linden Cemetery Association , P.O. Box 863, Linden, TX 75563, First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 179, Linden, TX 75563 or the charity of your choice.
Jr., as I knew him, along with the Caver family did with dignity and compassion handle those moments of grief that come with the death of a loved one. Romie, Brian and Gary it is your time now to take comfort from those who love you. We’ll miss Jr.
Milton was a good man while he was here on earth. Go rest old friend.

Romie, I was so sorry and shocked to hear of Junior’s passing. I intended to come to the funeral, but unfortunately couldn’t make it. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Junior and you made me feel welcome and at home during my years in Linden, and I will always remember and appreciate your friendship.
