Myrtis Faye Surratt, 86, of Linden passed away December 28, 2016. Ms. Surratt was born August 12, 1930 in Kildare, Texas to George Foshee and Dorothy Jelks Foshee. Faye retired from the Texas Department of Health and she was a valuable employee at Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home for many years.

She is survived by two sons, Randy Surratt and wife, Theresa of Linden, TX., Andy Surratt and wife, Rhonda of Kildare, TX.; one daughter, Sandy Wilcox and husband, Richard of Covington, LA.; four sister, Pauline Simmons, Melba Ferden, Shirley Blake, Darlene Wood; three brothers, Jim Foshee, Ben Foshee, Lavelle Foshee; grandchildren, Melissa Crew and husband Scott, Amanda Surratt, Magen Surratt, Spencer Wilcox and Catherine, Nicholas Wilcox, Justin Tucker and wife Amanda, Rusty Surratt and Lyndsay; eight great-great-grandchildren and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Lillie Hawthorn.

Services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 30, 2016 in the Chapel of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden with Bro. Jackie Stanfield and Dave Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in the Linden Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden.

There will be a time of visitation one hour prior to the service

  6. Faye was a wonderful and beautiful hostess for our funeral home for many years. She worked very hard at making Reeder-Davis the best possible for everyone we served. She helped me both professionally and personally and I loved her. May she rest in peace.
