LINDEN TX Orvis Lavelle Holland was born December 26, 1926 in the community of Lanier outside of Linden to Lewis and Willie Pearl Holland. He went to be with his Lord, Sunday, May 20, 2012 in Longview, Texas. He was owner of Hydrosonic Systems and a member of First Baptist Church in Kildare where he served as deacon and song leader for over 50 years. He was a Mason and 33nd Degree Scottish Rite. Mr. Holland served his country in the Air Force during WWII. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Randy and Pam Holland of Powderly, Texas; a daughter, Stephanie Ezell of Kildare; one sister, Ineida Harveston of Grayson, Louisiana; three brothers and four sisters-in-law, Gene and Peggy Holland of Nacogdoches, Curtis and Jerrie Sue Holland of Douglass, Texas; Dean and Peggy Holland and Brenda Holland of Linden; 11 grandchildren, Justin Holland and wife, Courtney of Concord, NC, Jordan Holland of Dallas, Derek Pate and wife, Trisha of Scurry, Texas, Shelley Hunt and husband, Micheal of Nacogdoches, Candace Pate of Tyler, Jason Ezell of Forney, Jamie Ezell of Gypsy, West Virginia, Justin Ezell of Linden, Jeremy Ezell of Kemp, Michael Joe Ezell of Greenville and Christian Ezell of Kildare; six great-grandchildren, Drew, Avery and MaKatlynn Holland, Kelsei Luksa and Kayleigh, Rylee and Tristen Ezell; plus many other honorary grandchildren and great-grandchildren he loved and treated as his own. He is also survived by many other family members and a host of friends. Preceding him in death was his wife and the love of his life for 62 years, Flonnie Grace; a son, Rickey, and two brothers, Preston and ONeal Holland. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Kildare with Bros. Thomas Potter and Virgil Ragland officiating. Interment will follow in Kildare Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home in Linden. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.

  8. I am so sorry that I could not get over there to the visitation and funeral. I just had other things going on that couldn't be helped.I loved O. L. and have many memories of him. He and mother rode to work together many years. I do know that he was so glad to see your mother and Ricky!!! What a wonderful homecoming he had!!! My prayers are with you and that you will feel the strength of the Lord in this time of sorrow.Love & hugs to you!!
