Peter Thaddaus Weiss was born August 9, 1950 in Salzburg, Austria to Robert Weiss and Rose Kearn. He passed away August 25, 2022. Peter was a good father to three beautiful girls. He loved fishing, riding his motorcycle and wood working crafts.

Peter was 36 years clean and sober. He became a licensed chemical dependency counselor and had a significant role in the recovery world helping numerous lives through the years. The Community Health Core honored his passion by naming a rehabilitation center after him. In his honor a plaque was placed for him: β€œIn recognition of his 29 year life changing work, dedication, and commitment in the field of addiction recovery, this program is renamed to the Peter T. Weiss Dear Recovery Center on this 22nd say of September, 2016. May all who pass through these doors reflect on his courage and the thousands of other he has helped lead lives of dignity, independence and achieve their dreams.”

Peter was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Weiss; daughters, Jillian Weiss, Tanya Cochran, and Andrea Macie; one sister, Rose Sullivan; brother-in-law, Jimmy O’Quinn; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services for Mr. Weis will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 8, 2022 at Reeder-Davis Chapel.
