Ralph “Papa” Odum, 86, of Lake O’ the Pines, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025. He was born April 12, 1939, in Marshall, Texas to Ernest and Myrtle Odum.
A proud Army veteran, Ralph lived an exciting and adventurous life. He was an entrepreneur, stuntman, and member of the Screen Actors Guild for over fifty years. But above all, Ralph was known for his strength, determination, and integrity in both his business and personal life.
Beyond the spotlight, his heart was rooted in ranching and raising his Registered Polled Hereford cattle, where he found true happiness spending time in nature and working his land.
On August 19, 1963, Ralph married the love of his life Sandra Odum, and together they built a life grounded in family and tradition. Their marriage was an example of dedication, lasting over six decades.
Ralph’s legacy will continue through his wife Sandra, son Shawn Odum and wife Miriam, son Shane Odum and wife Fernanda, and beloved grandsons Kent Odum and Jerrico Odum. His memory will also live on by the warm and loving home he made; and in the lives of all those he touched with his strength, wisdom, and kindness.
There will be a time of viewing and visitation will be 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Ore City, with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

It has been such an honor and blessing to be around you and your family! You all have the best love and bond, not only for each other, but everyone around! Poppa will definitely be missed by so many!! Continued prayers and love for you all and all who knew him! ❤️
We loved to go to Mr. Covin’s store for candy and a cold drink. He was the dare devil of our neighbor hood.If he would swing high,we would try and swing higher. None of us could swing as high as he did.
I’m so sorry for your loss. May God bless each of you in the coming days. I know how difficult this is for you. 🙏💔🇺🇲🙏
