LINDEN TX Raymond Earl Harris, 66, of Nacogdoches, formerly of Linden , went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Memorial Hospital in Lufkin, Texas. He was born June 11, 1946 to Amos and Mellie Harris. He was a heavy equipment operator for Kellogg Brown and Root for 35 yrs. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, LaJuan Harris of Nacogdoches; daughter and son-in-law, Letitia and Jeff Hamilton of Nacogdoches; son and daughter-in-law, Brently and Heather Harris of Linden; six grandchildren, Cameron, Cheyanne, Chandler, Tyler, Kinley and Payton. Also he is survived by his mother, Mellie Harris of Linden; mother-in-law, Modena Pate of Linden; one sister, Joan Birmingham of Atlanta; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Kerlin and Charla Harris and James and Pat Harris all of Linden; three brothers-in-law and sisters-in law, Kenneth and Linda Pate, Buddy and Jackie Pate and Rex and Vickie Pate all of Linden; many nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father; father-in-law, Loyd Pate; two brothers-in-law, Neal Birmingham and Tex Pate; and two special nephews, Brad Harris and Marty Pate. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm, Saturday, January 26, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Linden. Interment will follow in Linden Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home in Linden. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 pm Friday at the funeral home. Memorial may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, Memphis TN, in memory of Brad Harris or to the Marty Pate Scholarship Fund, Linden, TX 75563.
