Funeral services for Mr. Raymond Wayne Watkins, age 70, of Hughes Springs, Texas, will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 9, 2025, at Cross Roads Missionary Baptist Church, with Bro. Randy Watkins officiating.  Burial will follow at Dennis Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. There will be a time of visitation with family and friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2025, at the funeral home.  Honorably serving as Pallbearers: Dee Watkins, Hayden White, Jimmy Hickman, Tommy Seyfer, Billy Seyfer, Albert Jackson.

Mr. Watkins was born September 19, 1954 in Pittsburg, Texas, to Mr. Morris Wayne Watkins and Mrs. Jo Nell Hines Watkins. He passed away at his home in Hughes Springs on May 6, 2025.

Raymond was a loving father, husband, grandpa, brother and uncle. He was known for his strong work ethic and his incredible ability to fix anything that came his way. A devoted fisherman and a true jokester, he filled the lives of those around him with laughter, love, and a deep sense of loyalty. His good-hearted nature and unconditional love touched all who knew him.

Mr. Watkins was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Morris Wayne Watkins and Mrs. Jo Nell Hines; brothers, Billy Watkins and Joe Watkins.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sissie Banks; daughter, Tanya Hickman and husband, Jimmy; sister, Wanda Watkins; brothers, H.E. Watkins and wife, Stacey, and Dee Watkins; and beloved grandchildren, Hayden White and wife, Mariah, and Shelby White. He also leaves behind great-grandchildren, Layten, Teagan, Kaycee, and Coy; niece, Novella Huddleston and husband, Bobby; along with numerous other nieces, nephews, family members, and friends who will cherish his memory.

Mr. Watkins’ legacy of kindness and humor will continue to inspire all those who knew and loved him.
