Rev. Robert L. Anderson departed this life December 2, 2017 at 7:45 a.m. He was a member of Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church where he remained faithful until his death. He served as pastor at Mt. Pilgrim for over 20 years.

He was born to Mr. and Mrs. Howard and Bernice (Dickson) Anderson. He was married to  Ernestine (Van Loue) Anderson on December 22, 1956 and to this union, eight children were born.

Rev. Robert L. Anderson leaves to mourn; his wife; Mrs. Ernestine Anderson; their two boys and daughters-in-law, Marvin and  Vanessa, David and Felicia; five daughters; Cindy, Teresa, Whitney, Vicky, Angie and husband, Daren; five sisters, Claudine, Lillie Pearl, Bettie Jean, Alice Rose, Barbra Ann. Mr. Anderson is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great -grandchildren.  Rev. Anderson was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Mike;  and his only brother, Albert.

Services for Rev. Robert L. Anderson will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Pilgrim Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. There will be a time of visitation from 6:00 until 8:00 Wednesday evening at the funeral home.

  8. To the Anderson Family Sorry For Your Loss. Mr. (Rev.) Robert was a very Loving man. As Marvin would refer to him as "The Giant". The chain has been broken and it’s up to us ALL to fill that missing link with Loving Each Other. We will cherish the memories of Love, Laughter and Pain. Rev. Anderson has left a legacy that will continue beyond time. The seeds has been planted in each and every person he came across. He departed this life once they came to harvest.
