May 21, 1949 ~ May 13, 2015
Robert Louis Royal, Sr. was born on May 21, 1949 in Hughes Springs, Texas. He was the eighth of eleven children born to Reed and Eula V (Turner) Royal. He grew up in Hughes Springs and graduated from Traylor High School in 1967. Robert joined Love Chapel Baptist Church at an early age and he was taught about the love of Jesus at his mothers knee along with his brothers and sisters, through her loving examples. He received his formal education in the Hughes Springs School District and he pursued higher education in Business at the IBM Technical College. His business savvy and suave style were personified in his youthful nickname of Boss Man. Robert used his skills in various fields of employment which included Lone Star Steel and the Tymec Corporation of California. Robert found love when he married Linda Banks and to this union was born Robert Royal, Jr., their only child. Although our family is saddened by our loss, if we could speak to him today, we would say, We have so many precious memories to last our whole life through, each one of them reminds us of how much we are missing you. Robert leaves to cherish his memories: his son; Robert Jr. (Natasha), three sisters; Thelma and Vernell of Houston and Eula of Hughes Springs; five brothers; William Harold (Linda) and Lonnie of Hughes Springs; John L. (Annette) of Longview, Gerry of Houston and Donnie (Gloria) of Vallejo, California; a half-sister, Irma Dean of McKinney; one grandson Bricen, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
