Ronald Allen Davis was born July 3, 1943, in Hughes Springs, Texas, to Mr. Louie Richard Davis and Alice Pauline Stiles Davis.  He passed away Monday, December 15, 2025, in Longview, Texas.

Mr. Davis proudly served in the United States Navy. He was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Daingerfield and the Masonic Lodges of Daingerfield, Lone Star, and Avinger, along with Eastern Star number 906.  An accomplished electrician by trade, he was also a skilled builder who constructed homes, racecars, and pretty much anything else that came to mind. He had a lifelong passion for aviation, enjoyed flying airplanes, and was in the process of building his own aircraft. He loved to travel, race, and snow ski, although being a self-described sports agnostic. Known for being direct and straightforward, people always knew where they stood with him. Beneath that tough exterior, however, he was tender-hearted, especially in his later years.  His strong work ethic and curiosity for life lives in his children and grandchildren as a testament to his legacy.

Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Dovie Carole Finley Davis; his parents, Louie and Alice Davis; his sister, Margret McGreehan.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Yocum, of Daingerfield; children: Lori Loyd and husband Lee, of Daingerfield, Ron Davis, Jr., of Dallas, Jonathan Davis and wife Marie, of Grand Junction, Colorado; bonus children: Tommy Yocum, of Daingerfield, Andy Yocum and wife Ning, of Houston, David Yocum and wife, Laurie, of  Chandler, Arizona, Michael Yocum and wife, Carrie, of Mt. Pleasant; brother, Richard Davis and wife, Kellie, of Lone Star; grandchildren: Erin Loyd and wife, Amber, of Lubbock, Tiffany Loyd Robertson, and husband, Mike, of Daingerfield, Dr. Allyson Davis, of Seattle, Washington, Leonardo Franco, of Laredo, Texas, Gabriela Davis, of Grand Junction, Colorado; bonus grandchildren:  William Yocum, of Daingerfield, Ashleigh Traylor and husband, Kevi, of Daingerfield; great-grandchildren: Cole and Levi Langley, of Marshall, Taylor and Eden Loyd, of Lubbock, Brett Moraine, of Daingerfield, Korbyn Traylor of Daingerfield, Victor Torres, of Houston, Allison Yocum, and Mitchell Yocum, of  Houston;  special nephew and family, Eric Davis and wife, Reagan, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and little Henry and sweet Edith.

  1. Candle 5Ron was a friend through Post 66 where his dad Louie, our scout leader, helped many of us boys as we grew to manhood. What a great family they were: Louie, Alice, Ron, and Margaret. Rest in peace, all.

I met Ronny when I married his cousin Horace Glynn Stiles and that was 70 years ago , so I’ve know him a long time , his family always made me feel welcome.
