Rosie Lee Hillis

Rosie Lee Hillis was born in Naples, Tx on August 5 1926 to the union of Arvilla and John L. Crowder. Rossie Lee Hillis married Josephus (Joe) Hillis and passed away March 23, 2015. To this union ten children were born. She was a member of Williams Chapel Baptist Church and a member of the choir. She worked various jobs before working as a CNA at Elmwood Nursing Center where she retired. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arvilla and John L. Crowder; husband, Josephus (Joe) HIllis; daughters, Dora Dartez, Charlotte Whitfield, and Gail Hillis. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Hellen (Roy) Gilmore of Naples, Donald (Debra) of New Hampshire, Katie (Tom) Mitchell, Rose Goodjoint, Pinky Brooks, and Alvin Hillis of Seattle, Washington; 29 grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth Holland; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Services for Mrs. Hillis will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Williams Chapel Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. She will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
