Services for Roy G. McCord, 88, of Marietta will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Reeder-Davis Chapel in Hughes Springs with Bro. Bobby Proctor officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Marietta under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Mr. McCord was born August 17, 1926 in Marietta and passed away October 10 in a Mt. Pleasant Hospital. He was a Mill Wright for Day & Zimmerman and a US Army WW II Veteran. He was preceded in death by three brothers Lowell, Don and Travis McCord. He is survived by his wife Virginia McCord; three sons Michael McCord of Keller, Leon McCord and Jeffery McCord both of Marietta; three daughters Rhonda Gay of Rockwall, Brenda McCord of Mesquite and Deborah Carpenter of Marietta; three brothers Ernest and Kenneth McCord both of Marietta and Gaynor McCord of Quitman; 14 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. Family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Monday evening at the funeral home.
