Services for Kevin Scott Hayes, 48 of Linden, will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Linden. Burial will follow at Linden Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden. There will be a time of visitation from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Scott was born August 3, 1967 and passed away March 15, 2016. He worked as a Contractor for Red River Army Depot, and served overseas in both Iraq and Kuwait, where he was awarded several medals of honor for his service. Scott was a lifelong resident of Linden and a member of Cross Creek Cowboy Church. He enjoyed working and helping on the Rodeo circuit, with Wing Rodeo Company.
Scott was preceded in death by his father, Jearl Hayes; grandparents: Roy and Joy Hayes, Harvey D. and Mary McKinney; step-sister, Mendy Henderson. He is survived by his loving mother and step-father, Linda and Joe Lumpkins; brother, Rodney Hayes (Hollie); niece, Gracie; nephew, Cort; step-brothers: Joey Lumpkins, Steven Lumpkins; step-sister, Kerry Shields (A.J.); niece, Kailey; step-brother, Shane Davidson; special friends, The Autrey Family; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
