Services for Ms. Shirley Everett Walker will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2019 at First Baptist Church in Daingerfield. Interment will follow at Rivers Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. There will be a time of visitation from 6:00 until 8:00 Friday evening at Oak Grove Church of Christ in Pittsburg.

Shirley Jean Everett Walker was born March 3, 1940 in Morris County to the late Mr. John Tom “J.T.” and Mrs. Sedailure Evans Everett. She passed away gracefully on May 13, 2019 in Mt. Pleasant. Shirley received her education from J.J. Rhoads High School in Morris County. She attended Oak Grove Church of Christ.

Cherished family members that preceded her in death are: parents, J.T. Everett and Sedailure    Evans Everett; brother, J. T. “Big Jim” Everett, Jr.; sister, Georgia Pearl Smith.

She leaves to cherish her memories:     daughters and sons-in-law, Unitta Walker of Dallas, Doranda Wright of Daingerfield, Katrina (Terry) Higgins of Daingerfield, Devida Doddy (Richard Simmons) of Lone Star, Heather (Derrick) Newson of Cason; sons and daughters-in-law, Samuel Jr. (Michelle) Walker of Pittsburg, Charles (Carolyn) Walker of Lancaster, Carlton (LaSheryl) Walker of Dallas; two sisters, Flora James of Daingerfield, and Margie (James) Edmond of Cason; three brothers, Robert (Simon) Everett, Arthur Ray (Sally) Everett of Daingerfield, and Don Everett of Pittsburg; numerous loving, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

  9. Ms. Shirley was a JEWEL. She always had a smile, and was soft spoken. Often I’d speak with Ms. Shirley via: phone while she and Dee Dee were out. While visiting at Greenhill Villa she and I had a special inside joke, When I would say it to her, she would look at me and smile. Ms. Shirley will TRUELY BE MISSED.   15. I remember countless days in which Miss Shirley fed me after practice while waiting on my ride to come. She was a mother to more than her own children and anytime you were around her she displayed pure unconditional love to everyone. God blesses the world with this angel of a woman!!
