HUGHES SPRINGS Funeral services for Thelbert Eugene Taylor, 69, of Hughes Springs will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 20, 2013 at Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church, with Bro. Dan McGuire and Shawn Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Shelton Rankin Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. There will be a time of visitation from 6 until 8, Thursday evening, at the funeral home. Mr. Taylor was born August 17, 1944 in Linden and passed away September 18, 2013 at a Linden hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Taylor; his parents, Thelbert and Betty Taylor; one sister, Geraldine Taylor; and his grandparents, Charles and Vera Mitchell and A.D. and Laura Taylor. He is survived by three sons and one daughter, Ricky Taylor (Trudy), Roger Taylor, Shawn Taylor (Sherri), and Sharlotte Porter (Jerry), all of Hughes Springs; two sisters and brother-in-laws, Sondra and Mitch West and Betty Carol and David Thomas, all of Hughes Springs; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

  1. Im so sorry for you loss.. I went to school with Eugene and I always thought he was a great Guy. I wont ever forget the times he and I always joked about who was the fastest in the 100 yd dash.. but it was only a joke.. I couldn't stay close to him. He will be missed by all his close friends and family RIP Tater.

How comforting it is to know that your dear loved one has the wonderful privilege of resuming life again free from all causes of sicknesses, pain and suffering that sometimes ends in death. My sympathies to family and friends: What comfort and strength we gain from looking forward to the time when as Isaiah 33:24 assures us that no earthly resident will say: I am sick. and John 5:28, 29 informs us that all those in the memorial tombs will hear His voice and come out. . . Please continue finding comfort in and taking advantage of the abundant guidance Gods Word to us the Bible.
