Services for Thelma Lyons Holly, 92, of Ore City will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 14, 2017 at Cedar Springs Baptist Church with Bro. Ken Mills officiating. Burial will follow at Noonday Cemetery in Hallsville, TX, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Ore City. There will be a time of visitation from 6 until 8 Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Holly was born February 9, 1925 and passed away July 11, 2017. She so loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She lived for her family. Thelma and her late husband enjoyed fishing. She loved her scratch off tickets and never missed an opportunity to go to the boats.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Everett “E.G.” Holly; parents, Arrie and Lee Lyons, Sr.; two brothers, Lee Lyons, Jr. and Virgil Lyons.
She is survived by sons, Danny Holly and wife, Carmen, Mike Holly and wife, Poncy; daughter, Connie Holly; grandchildren, Shawn Holly, Hollie Kersey, Michael James Holly, Dylan Holly and wife, LaCee; great-grandchildren, Heaven Gilliam, Hudson Holly, Landry Holly, Harley Cain, Quinnly Holly; and sister, Betty Thurman.
The family would like to give a big thank you to Hospice of East Texas.

  2. I use to give Mrs. Holly perms. I always looked forward to seeing her. She always had a big smile on her face and lottery tickets to scratch. She loved her family dearly. She will be missed by all who knew her. My prayers are with her family during this time.

  4. In ones’ life you often meet others that bring to mind someone you know or have met before. This was not the case with my mothers’ only sister and confidante. My Aunt Thelma is truly a one of a kind rarety. The mold was really broken. In all my fifty seven years there has not been another like or close to her character. I am going to miss her. Hats off to you Aunt Thelma.
