Tommie Lee Lassiter

April 13, 1929 ~ September 22, 2018
Tommie Lee Lassiter was born to Elizabeth Lassiter on April 13, 1929, in Alabama and passed from this earth on September 22, 2018.
Tommie was a loving man of God and was loved by many. Tommie was known for his love of Christ. He was always involved with the church and loved gospel music. Tommie enjoyed meeting new people and never missed an opportunity to share the gospel. He would ask strangers if they had a church and wouldn’t hesitate to offer his own church. Tommie was a deacon at New Life Assembly, which he also helped build.
Throughout Tommie’s life, he had many business endeavours in Linden and Ore City, some of which are still around today.
Tommie began work at Lone Star Steel in 1953 and retired from there in 1986.
After retirement, Tommie continued to run his own auto sale business, but his greatest accomplishment was his family and friends.
Tommie was preceded in death by his first wife of 49 years, Alta Ray Lassiter; daughter, Wanda Graham; and step-sons, Randy Tubb and Edward Tubb, Jr.
Tommie was survived by his wife Jean Lassiter; beloved sister Marylee Williams; daughter, Beth Ann Reynolds and husband Robert; son-in-law, Larry Graham; daughter-in-law, Sharon Tubb; seven grandchildren: Stephanie Puckett and husband Brian; Marcie Burks and husband Kent; Joshua Tubb and wife Amye; Eric Reynolds, Nathan Tubb, T.R. Reynolds; D.J. Dunn and husband Dustin; 19 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The Lassiter family extends a special thanks to Amber, Lana, Mary, Sandy, Toni, Margaret, and other staff at Heritage Hospice of Jefferson for making Tommie’s last years more comfortable and for the love and care they showed him.
Services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at Reeder-Davis Chapel in Ore City. Burial will follow at Ore City Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Ore City. There will be a time of visitation from 6:00 until 8:00 Monday evening at the funeral home.
