Services for Mr. Tommy Harris 78 of Pittsburg, will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Cason. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Ore City. Mr. Harris was born July 29, 1937 and passed away November 17, 2015. Mr. Harris will lie state Friday at the funeral home. Tommy Lee Harris was born July 19, 1937 to the parentage of Grady Harris Sr. and Ozia Harris. He was born and raised in Queen City/Domino community. Tommy graduated from Thorton High School in 1956. He then moved to Dallas, Texas where he resided for a short period before moving on to St. Louis, MO where he lived for 30 plus years. While living in St. Louis, Tommy met and married Betty Taylor (preceded him in death) five children were born of this union. Tommy was employed at Deluxe Check Printers for thirty one years, where he worked in many positions and received many accolades. He worshipped at New Northside Baptist Church where he studied and eventually became an ordained Deacon. Tommy was later married to Barbara Keys, six children, ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren are blended into this union. After retiring from Deluxe Check Printers he moved to Pittsburg, Texas where he drove the school bus for PISD for twelve years. Tommy joined Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church, served as a Deacon, leader of the parking lot attendants and sang in the mens choir. He loved to fish and play dominos, both of which he could do for hours at a time. Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, two sons (Carlos, Dale), three sisters, four brothers and one gret grand-daughter. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife: Barbara, three daughters: (Sabrina, Lenora, Cheryl), three sons: Zubon (Denise), Willie (Janet), Wayne (Charmaine), six grandsons: Carlos, Joshua, Willie III, Dajuan, Isaish, Duane, four grand-daughters: Jijuanna (Shamar), Cierra, Taylor, Anita, seven great grandsons: Jeremiah, Anthony, Dreshawn, Keyshawn, Jaden, Micah, Oryion, three great grand-daughters: Ameinna, Adrionna, Amirah, two sisters: Grace, Clemmie, one brother: Robert and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
