Van Nalph Hall

October 25, 1935 ~ July 1, 2020
Van Nalph Hall, 84, of Linden passed away July 1, 2020. Mr. Hall was born October 25, 1935 in Glade Hill, Va to Owen Hall and Annie Hubbard Hall. Van served 20 years in the United States Army which he joined at the age of 18. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 6968 and a member of the Linden Church of Christ.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Faye Shelton Hall of Linden, TX; son, James Owen Hall of Huntsville, AL; three grandchildren, Jeremy Gruenberg of Wasilla, AK, Kelsey Hall and Joshua Hall both of Huntville, AL and one great-grandchild, Jerrick Gruenberg of Walissa, AK.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Annie and Owen Hall; one daughter, Dina Lynn Hall of Linden, TX; four sisters and three brothers all of Virginia.
Graveside services will be 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at Union Hill Cemetery with Billy Hunt officiating and under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden.
There will be a time of visitation from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home for family and friends to sign the registry and view.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Van's favorite charity, St. Jude's 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
Mr. Van was such a precious soul. Not many men like him anymore. Our hearts are sad at such a heavy loss. He did so much for so many without wanting any thanks. A humble and faithful servant. Rest in Peace, you deserve it.

We are gonna miss you so much! We both loved our visits, and all the stories. Van was a gentle soul, and a sweet hearted man. Always a smile and just pleasant to be around. God Bless you Van. And God Bless you Faye. We love you!

I did not know mr hall had passed away. He would come to visit my office in linden and visit occasionally. He was such a nice man and so kind. It made me sad to learn today that he had passed.
