Funeral services for Ms. Verlinda J. Durden, age 71, of Longview, Texas, will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 17, 2024 in the chapel of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Burial will follow at Kellyville Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Ms. Durden will lie in state from 12:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Friday, August 16, 2024 at the funeral home.

Verlinda Joyce Durden was born to the union of Alex Durden Sr and Lucy Fox Durden on August 31,1952. She graduated from Victory High School and was well known for her beautiful voice. Verlinda also had a natural artistic ability to draw. Verlinda was the youngest of 11 siblings. With 7 brothers and 3 sisters that preceded her in death. One surviving sister Sandra Barnes(Otha Barnes) of Dallas, Tx. She leaves to cherish her memories a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
