  1. Candle 2Ann was a great friend. She will be missed. Have lots of memories of our school years together. She had the sweetest smile. May God’s arms wrap around you during this time of grief.

  2. My dear friend, if I had only known. You were there for me in my darkest days. I know you are with your mom you missed so much and your beloved husband, Larry. Rest in peace and fly high with the angels!

    • Candle 2Ann was the most precious person that I have ever worked with at the Texas Forest Service. She made everyone feel welcome, at ease and like family which we all were. She will be greatly missed but will be a shining beacon among all the angels in Heaven. Rest in peace Ann all your works on earth are done.

  3. Candle 3On behalf of Smokey Bear, I light this candle. You were a wonderful co-worker, advisor, and friend. May God be with you on your final journey home.

  4. Candle 7Ann worked with a lot of foresters during her career with the Texas Forest Service. I feel fortunate to have worked with her for 34 years. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was a genuinely nice person. Debbie and I will miss her, and offer our condolences to the family.

  5. Ann has been a marvelous lifetime friend — so kind, so unassuming, and so highly competent at whatever task she tackled. When we were three, I referred to her as “the little yellow-haired girl I want to play with some more.” Truly, it was impossible to ever tire of her excellent company. Ann touched so many, and we will remember her with much love and admiration.

  12. Candle 8I will always remember Ann’s welcoming smile and warm reception as a new forester to Linden when I first began my journey with the Texas Forest Service. The fact that our birthdays are only a day apart was a sweet connection that we maintained throughout the years. I only wish I could be there to pay my respects. May eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Amen.

  13. Candle 8My heart is extremely heavy with grief over Ann’s passing and at the same time filled with love and gratitude for the friendship we shared for most of our lives and the very special person she was. In High School we were Senior Class officers together, in the band, and like so many in our class of 1966, we were part of a tight knit group of life long friends whose friendship continued through her the years. As many others have stated, she was one of the kindest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing and it was an honor to be considered her friend. If you were Ann’s friend, colleague, and importantly a close family member, you were truly blessed. My sincere condolences to all the family with gratitude for all you did these past weeks in providing Ann with your loving embrace and exceedingly special care. With lots of love to you all.

  14. Candle 8Clifton and family,
Prayers being lifted for you during this time. Ann was such a delight to visit with. Love you
    Deborah Ferrell Jones

  15. I don’t know where to start. Ann and I have been friends since 1st grade in Elementary School. We began to get even closer in Jr. High. Our childhood homes were in the same area, so we visited each other a lot. We shared so many experiences , not only at school, but in our everyday lives – sleepovers, riding our bikes, suntanning in our swimsuits in the yard (very few had pools back in the day). When we reached the age to date, we would go on double dates with our boyfriends. Also, later as married women, we would visit and do things together – girl outings or the two couples. No matter the time apart, we would pick up right where we left off, as if no time had past. The last time we visited, she was home from the hospital and in her bedroom, sitting in a chair. There wasn’t a second chair in the room so she told me to just get up on the bed. I crawled up in the middle of her bed, and we talked for two hours. I love you, Ann, and I’m going to miss our talks.

  16. Candle 3My heart goes out to you Clifton and your family. Praying for y’all. Polly Anna (Brown) Samples
