Wayne Traylor

wayne traylor
Wayne, as his family and friends affectionately called him, was the tenth child born to Rubin and Ester (Doddy) Traylor.  He grew up in the Cason, TX community with his six brothers and four sisters. He and his siblings learned the value of hard work and family unity from their parents.
At an early age Wayne accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior, was baptized and joined Shady Grove Baptist Church in Cason.
Wayne attended Central Grove Elementary School in Cason, Daingerfield Jr. High School and Daingerfield High School in Daingerfield. He excelled academically and athletically and was voted Most Likely to Succeed in high school. Upon graduation in 1976, he accepted an academic scholarship at Prairie View A&M University. After freshman year, Wayne returned home and began his vocational career at Texas & Northern Railroad (T&N). After T&N, Wayne worked as a handy man and became well-known as “the guy who could fix anything.”  He was never too busy to lend a helping hand.
On January 7, 1999, he married Sharon Armor. The couple resided in Cason with  stepdaughter, Ashley.
In 2018, Wayne moved to San Antonio to live with his sister, Patsy, brother-in-law, Dr. Willie Lett and niece, RaDonda Johnson. While there, Wayne enjoyed many new experiences, and decided to make SA his home. He was well-regarded by his new friends and acquaintances and selflessly extended a helping hand to anyone in need until his health began to decline.
On Thursday, April 23, 2020 Wayne left to answer the call that we all must someday.
He was preceded in death  by parents, Rubin and Ester Traylor, brother, Billy Jo, and sister, Bessie Fay Duffy.
