Wesley Shelton

December 24, 1937 ~ October 20, 2022
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Wesley O’Neal Shelton, a loving son, father, uncle, Pawpaw, and friend to all whose lives he touched.
Wesley Shelton left this earth on October 20, 2022, at his home in Simms, TX surrounded by his family. He was born December 24, 1937, in Linden/ Kildare, TX, the son of James Edward Shelton and Rose Mae Brown-Shelton.
Wesley was funny, outgoing, hardworking, and young at heart, who loved spending time with family and friends. As his daughter would say “he’s the smartest man she has ever known”. His presence in our lives will be sorely missed.
Wesley loved trail rides with his wife Hope and spending time with his mules, especially Kate his favorite mule he has had for 25 years. If he was not on a trail ride, he was visiting his Amish friends in Indiana, or at an auction looking for new finds. Wesley retired from ABF Freight lines in 1997 and had a passion for leather making. He loved hanging out with family and close friends every chance he could and spoiling those near and dear to him.
Wesley will be missed everyday by his wife Hope Shelton, children: Faith “Faye” Shook (Mike), Sandra Davis (Jeff), Wesley “Bubba” Shelton (Pat Smith), Johnnie Mae Lowrance (Clifford), Teri Morales (Johnny), Rene Enriquez (Judie), 12 grand kids and 18 great grandchildren.
We know Wesley is now with his mother, father, brother James Shelton, sister Margret Ellen Peeler, son Bruce Pritchett, and daughter Tonya Enriquez Orozco. He is loved here on earth as well as in heaven.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 23, 2022 at Reeder-Davis Chapel. Services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Kildare Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden.
