William (Bill) Barton

William (Bill) Barton was born December 28, 1942 and passed away March 31, 2016 at his home in Lone Star. Bill was a dedicated husband, dad, and friend to all who knew him. He was born and raised in Hughes Springs and was a long time member of Veal Switch Baptist Church. He worked many years with TN Railroad and Alaska Teamsters. He served on Holly Springs Water Board for seven years and for the last four and a half years Bill was an invaluable member of the Reeder-Davis Funeral Home family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Merline Barton; sons, William Todd Barton, and Greg Barton; and grandson, Ryan Williams. Bill is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 26 years, Pat Barton; daughters, Melanie (Tricie) Hines and husband, Chris of Longview, Renee Williams and husband, Brett of Pittsburg, Stacy McNeece and husband, Lynn of Kilgore, and Angela Williams of Longview; son, Danny Dunn of New Jersey; daughter-in-law, Tammy Barton and fiance, Chris Allen; special nephew, Chris Barton of Longview; brother, Bobby Barton and wife, Debbie of Ore City; 15 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 3, 2016 at Veal Switch Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Hughes Springs Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. There will be a time of visitation from 6 until 8 Saturday evening at the funeral home.

He was a great Christian man and let God shine thru his daily life. A wonderful example of a Christian. I pray for your strength Pat to continue on as he would want.
