Private graveside services for Wilma Evans, 78, of Daingerfield will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 24, 2020 at Whitmore Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Ms. Evans will lie in state from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Thursday, April 23, 2020 at the funeral home. 

Wilma was born to Leo and Lela Johnson. 

She attended J.J. Rhoades High School. 

She united with Wallick Chapel Christian Church where she remained till her health started to fail.

She united in marriage to Leo Evans and to this union, two children were born.

On April 18, she departed this earth at Windsor Place Nursing Center.

She was proceeded in death by her parents; husband; son, Anthony Evans; brothers, SL and L.J. (Leo Jr); sisters, Arnetta Davis and Mae Ella Connally.

She leaves behind, daughters, Dorris (Greg) Payne of Balch Springs, TX and Lytha (Derrick) Reeves of Garland, TX; son, Andrew Evans of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Byron Johnson of Aubrey, TX, Christopher Johnson of Denton, TX, Brandon Johnson of Allen, TX, Darius Johnson of Lewisville, TX, Trevon Peoples of Sanger, TX, Kaleb Evans of Longview, TX, and Isiah Evans of Daingerfield, TX; siblings, Marie Higgins of Daingerfield, TX, Bonnie (James) White of Fort Worth, TX, Mae Ozie Johnson of Daingerfield, TX, Eddie (Debra) Johnson of Daingerfield, TX and Curtis Wayne (Kathy) Johnson of Daingerfield, TX; and a host of great grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

  1. I am so sorry for your loss. Wilma was my neighbor and friend! My heart hurts, she will be missed. I have so many precious memories of her.
