Funeral services for Mr. Joe Wright Patman, 74, of Hughes Springs, will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at Turkey Creek Baptist Church.  Burial to follow at Turkey Creek Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. There will be a time of visitation from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Patman was born on January 3, 1949 in Hughes Springs, Texas to Morris Patman and Alice Orantha Bailey Patman.  He passed away July 13, 2023 in a Longview area hospital.  Mr. Patman was in the United States Marine Corps and served in Vietnam.  He was a generous and caring person with a kind heart.  He especially loved his grandchildren, which were the light of his world.  He was an avid reader, and collector of many things, including Case knives and books. Mr. Patman was preceded in death by his parents.  He is survived by son, Joey Patman and wife Cindy; son, David Stiffler and wife Esperanza; daughter, Jennifer Robinson; brother, Morris Patman, Jr.; sisters:  Beth Howlett, and husband Lester, Mary Alice Beul, and husband Gary; grandchildren:  Justin Patman, Kaitlyn Patman, Wesley Robinson, Jacob Patman, Oliver Stiffler, Rosalie Stiffler, and Christina Bigner; great-grandchildren:  Ryker Lackey, and Lawson Lackey; numerous nieces and nephews.
