It is with great sadness that we announce that Tania Renee Benson passed from this life on September 10, 2023 in Osawatomie, Kansas and is at last resting in peace. Tania has been a resident of Kansas for most of the last 25 plus years. Tania was born on January 29, 1954 to Eugene and Sibyl Benson in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where she attended school and graduated from Northwest Classen High School. While in grade school, Tania, served as a Kiwanis Junior Police, and in high school she served as a Red Cross volunteer. Β In 1978, Tania enlisted with the U.S. Navy and attended basic training in Orlando, Florida. Unfortunately, she spent most of the years thereafter with insurmountable mental health struggles. As a child, Tania loved taking dance lessons, participating in the Girl Scout organization, playing the piano and spending time with her animals, which in later years included her pet cat. Tania loved her family and loved hearing about what was going on with them and viewing their pictures. Tania was very thoughtful to her cousins, and all her nieces and nephews. Tania is survived by a sister, Barbara King; an aunt, Mary Pickens; brother-in- law, Dr. Don Wade; niece, Mary Stinson; nephew Dr. Michael Wade (Laura); cousins Bill Almond, Cassie Points, Karis Pickens; four great nieces; four great nephews and four great-great nephews. Tania was preceded in death by her grandparents Elmer and Bessie Almond; her parents; sister, Charlene Wade; niece, Susan Wade; two nephews, Wynn Stinson and Mark Wade; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
