Charles Richard Beck

August 6, 1947 ~ December 10, 2023

Born in: Bowie County, Texas
Resided in: Texarkana, Texas

Charles Richard Beck was born August 6, 1947 to Buell and Joyce Beck in Bowie County, Texas.  Richard battled Parkinson’s Disease for 17 long years and finally won the battle on December 10, 2023 when he went to heaven.

Richard loved living life. He served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force from 1967 to 1971 and retired from UPS after 30 years as a delivery driver. He loved his Arkansas Razorbacks, 50’s and 60’s oldies music, and a multitude of desserts. Most of all, he loved his wife. When he married Suzanne he gained a daughter and eventually grandchildren that blessed his life in so many ways.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Rebecca Beck; and brother-in-law, Joe Harold Terry.

Richard leaves behind his wife of 26 years, Suzanne Terry Beck of Texarkana; daughter, Amy Green of Texarkana; grandchildren, Treston Green and Amaya Green; sister, Susan Beck of Foreman, Arkansas; brother-in-law, Alan Terry, Sr.; sister-in-law, D’Lorah Carwile; life long friends, Chuck Martin and Ted Capehart; dear friend, Betty Young; nieces and nephews he loved dearly; and a host of extended family and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Retreat at Kenwood and Retreat Hospice for the wonderful care they provided, and Betty Young for her support during Richard’s battle with Parkinson’s. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to suggest a donation to the Parkinson’s Foundation in memory of Richard at http://www.parkinson.org or Parkinson’s Foundation 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131.
