Wayne Hansen is my Grandpa, I live in Spencer, IA. He was very loved by many devoted family members and many friends. He was known for his love of his career as truck driver, and traveled to many states in the US. You will be missed and always will remember you and your bright spirit.

Wayne E. Hansen was born March 23, 1929 in Ruthven, Iowa to Carl and Nina Hansen. He passed away January 8, 2024 at his home in Ore City at 94 years old. He was proud to tell anyone who would listen how old he was and laugh as they marveled at how well he still got around. Wayne worked for many years as a truck driver. After he retired from trucking, he still enjoyed traveling the country and camping. He also farmed and did some mechanic work over the years. He enjoyed being outdoors, going places, and visiting with people.
He was preceded in death by two wives, Shirley Mills Hansen and Jeannine Bibler Hansen; his parents; three children, Linda Duhn, Robert Hansen, and Stanley Hansen; three brothers, Irvin Hansen, Leo Hansen, and Raymond Hansen; and a granddaughter, Christie Madsen.
Wayne is survived by two daughters, Karen Grate of Spencer, Iowa, Sharon Orwig and husband Glen of Ore City, Texas; son, Kevin Hansen and wife Denise of Jackson, Minnesota; 25 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; one sister, Virginia Novak of Mendota, Illinois; a special friend, Wilma Higley of Lake Havasu, Arizona; and a host of extended family and friends.
Mr. Hansen will be laid to rest at the family cemetery in Ruthven, Iowa. The family will celebrate his life with a memorial service at a later date.
