Graveside services for Mrs. Carolyn Surratt-Coleman, age 77, of Ore City, Texas, will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at Ore City Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Ore City.  There will be a time of visitation with the family from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 29, 2024, at Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Ore City.

Carolyn was born March 29, 1947 in Linden, Texas to Davis Wilson Surratt and Audrie Mae Kirby Surratt. She passed away July 26, 2024, in Longview, Texas.

Mrs. Coleman was a member of Ore City Methodist Church.  Through the years, Mrs. Coleman was an English teacher at Ore City Middle School. She later retired as the Principal of Ore City Middle School. She also served on the Ore City School Board for a number of years. She loved her family, friends, and spending time on the lake. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Davis and Audrie Mae Surratt; sister, Faye Mozingo.  Carolyn is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Charles “Chuck” Coleman; son, Jason Coleman and wife Cissy; two granddaughters: Grace and Bonnie.
