Phillip Alderson

Funeral services for Mr. Phillip Alderson, 79, of Hughes Springs, Texas, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 31, 2026, in the chapel of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Burial will follow at Hughes Springs Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. There will be a time of visitation for family and friends beginning at 2:00 p.m. Sunday and lasting until service time.

Phillip E. Alderson passed away May 28, 2026, at his home, with his loving family at his side. He was born June 3, 1946, in Kilgore, Texas, to Walter Willie Alderson and Mildred Beale Alderson.

Phillip loved his God, his country, and his family. He lived his life with faith, integrity, and a deep love for those around him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Louise Southall, Patsy Sloan, and Janette Jackson; and brother, Ronnie Alderson.

He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Rita Alderson; daughters, Michelle Dearien and husband, Marvin, of Arkansas, and Allisha McFarland and husband, Sean, of North Carolina; mother-in-law, Linnie Bryant of Hughes Springs; brother-in-law, Bud Bryant and wife, Janice, of Daingerfield; sisters, Treva Hawkins of Georgia, Paula Beard of Texas, and Susan Alderson of Texas; sister-in-law, Jill Alderson; grandchildren, Michaela McFarland Bell and husband, Aukai, of North Carolina, Kathryn McFarland Boxall and husband, Callum, of York, England, Savannah McFarland of North Carolina, Matthew Dearien and fiancée, Diana Malloy, of Arkansas, Mason Dearien of Arkansas, and Michael Dearien of Arkansas; great-grandson, Kayce Bell; and one great-granddaughter due in July to Kathryn and Callum. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to HeartsWay Hospice of Northeast Texas, especially nurses Felicia, Katrina, and Josh, along with the entire staff, for their care and compassion.
