Christopher Deondre Hopkins

August 31, 1993 ~ February 17, 2017
Christopher was born to the parentage of Lolethia Johnson and Cedrick (Kasi) Hopkins. Chris has always been loved by everyone he has met, he never met a stranger. Everyone always had kind words to say about him, he was well known to all as "Lil Chris."
There was rarely a moment that Chris was ever seen without a smile on his face, he was always quick to try to lend a helping hand, he respected everyone he came in contact with whether they were young or old. To know Chris was definitely to love him. He lived life to the fullest. He was a die hard cartoon fan, Dragon Ball Z being his favorite. He was a graduate of Hughes Springs High School class of 2011, and a member of Hughes Springs Community Church in Hughes Springs.
He was preceded in death by both grandmothers, Barbara Wallace and Lalaie Johnson; grandfather, Booker T. Jefferson; and uncle, "Bug" Elbert Johnson Jr.
He leaves to mourn his mother Lolethia Johnson of Gilmer; father, Cedrick Hopkins (Kasi) of Newsome; three sisters, Camry Watkins (Joshua), Cantaria Moon, and Alexis Thrapp; two brothers, Dont'a Johnson, and Cedarion Hopkins; two step siblings, Bent'lee and Kentravion Broughton; aunts, Patricia Daniels (James) and Coreka Johnson; uncles, Reginal and Thomas Everett; grandfather, Elbert Johnson Sr.; nephew Cadien Watkins; two special friends, Sean Hall and Chris Nix; and a host of cousins and friends.
So sorry for your loss
So sorry for your loss. Sending lots of love & prayers your way.
Sorry for your loss. Praying for you and your family. God bless.
I wanted to express my heartfelt condolences to Chris’s family. There’s such a sense of helplessness when someone we love dies, especially so young. I’d like to share some scriptural thoughts that really helps me. Prayer is so valuable at this time but it’s not that prayer simply makes us feel better. 2 Cor.4:7 says that God can give us, "… power beyond what is normal ", to go from one day to the next. This does not mean that we no longer cry or that we forget, but it means we recover. The reason we recover is because of our hope. Jesus Christ talked about our hope in John 5:28, "… all those in the memorial tomb will hear his voice and come out ". Jesus was referring to the resurrection, this is our amazing hope. 2 Cor. 1:3 describes our Creator as, "… the God of all comfort ". One way that God comforts us is by moving people who care about us to give us words of encouragement that we need to hear. May the God of comfort (Ps.83:18) be your comfort now during this time of sorrow.
My condolences and prayers are with you and the family
