James Aaron Alcorn was born July 27, 1970, to James and Sharon Ellis Alcorn. Aaron lived a life marked by service, leadership, and a deep commitment to his community. He passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of dedication to agriculture, youth development, and the many people and organizations he faithfully served throughout East Texas.

After finding the love of his life, Kim, he embraced his role as a devoted husband and beloved family man. His greatest joy was caring for and spending time with his family. He loved deeply, gave generously, and created a home filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support.

He was a proud and loving grandfather who served as a role model to his grandson, Hayden. He treasured the time they spent together and took great pride in teaching Hayden the skills, values, and traditions that were important to him, leaving him with memories and lessons that will last a lifetime.

Aaron was a dedicated leader and passionate advocate for agriculture and youth development. He faithfully served on the Yamboree Board for more than 15 years and became an active member of the Harvest Festival Board in 2010, serving as President for the past three years.

Aaron also devoted many years of service to the Gregg County Farm Bureau Board, where he served as a board member beginning in 2005 and as President from 2009 to 2024, and again from 2025 until 2026. He was a steadfast supporter of 4-H and FFA programs, believing deeply in the importance of investing in young people and encouraging the next generation to become advocates for agriculture. Through his leadership, mentorship, and commitment to the agricultural community, Aaron made a lasting impact on countless youth, families, and organizations across the region.

Aaron worked for Ben Maines Air Conditioning, Inc. in Longview for more than 20 years. He was also an avid Gilmer Buckeyes fan and enjoyed supporting his community in every way he could.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Sharon Ellis Alcorn.

He is survived by his wife, Kim Alcorn; two step-children, Baylee Wilabay and husband, Blake, and Tanner Rudd; brother, Clint Alcorn and Clint’s son, Hunter Alcorn; grandchildren, Hayden and Reid Wilabay; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Leland and Debbie Lambright; and a host of extended family, friends, and community members who will miss him dearly.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Candle 8Our precious son-in-law. There are no words to truly express our devastating grief. Only that we will stay as strong as possible to support our precious daughter. Aaron was loved by all who knew him.

  2. Candle 5Aaron was a friend and classmate with me. Aaron the memories we had in our highschool years will not match the memory I last had of you. We had a great time at our highschool reunion at Don Jauns and you walked in and I like to have not noticed you. We talked and had great time over supper. That was a big change in your life and you where very happy. Life was going good for you. Everytime I see a square body I think of the Chevy you had in school. What a sweet truck it was. You will truly be missed brother but your memories are forever will be. RIP Aaron. Prayers for the family 🙏

  3. Kim I’m so sorry to hear of Aaron’s passing. We will always remember him from our Washington DC trip when we met you guys for the first time. We will be praying for you and the family.

  4. Clint, Kim, and family,
You are in our thoughts and prayers. Please accept my condolences for your loss.
    Joseph
