Funeral services for Alma Ray Morrow McCain, 89, of Ore City will be at 12 Noon on Monday, December 27th at Murry League Baptist Church in Ore City. Burial to follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Ore City under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc. Mrs. McCain was born on October 18, 1921 in Marion County, TX and was called home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Marshall Manor Nursing Home. She attended Sun View School and was a proud graduate of Macedonia High School. She was a member of Murry League Baptist Church, attending faithfully until failing health. During her lengthy illness she was blessed to be cared for by her daughter, Sheila and her entire family. Alma Ray Morrow married Thelmon McCain on May 17, 1947. Together they parented seven daughters and lost two sons at birth. She took her role as housewife and mother seriously. She drew from her faith in God. Mrs. McCains faith was obvious and the advice to her children, grandchildren and others was Right is right and wrong is wrong, Stay with the Lord. She was a member of the Eastern Star Sunview Chapter #87. She was a stern but loving mother and grandmother. She leaves to cherish her memory, husband of 63 years Thelmon McCain; daughters Doris Lindsey (L.C.), Sharon Jackson (Larry), Janice Richardson (Karl), Alfreda Blanton, Sheila Coverson (Carl), and Zelda Earvin; son-in-law W.P. Drumgoole, James Blanton, Jerome Earvin; brother-in-law Hosea McCain (Mary) and sister-in-law Melba Walker; 15 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; a host of other relatives and friends. Mrs. McCain was preceded in death by her daughter Espanola Drumgoole; her parents Jim and Mary Morrow; one sister Janie Maxine Taylor and two brothers P.J. and William Morrow.

  1. We have lost a true angel. We loved her but God loved her best. As I remember her glowing spirit and the smell of her canning I remember being in her kitchen and her doing her pickles.
