Alyssa Sy’Nea Peters passed away unexpectedly at her home on June 26, 2025. Her passing has left a tremendous void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Born on August 15, 2005, in Mt. Pleasant, Texas, Alyssa was the cherished daughter of Sylvia Williams of Hughes Springs and Antonio Peters, Sr. of Cason.

A 2023 graduate of Avinger High School, Alyssa proudly served as Salutatorian of her class. Bright, driven, and full of promise, she went on to attend Louisiana Tech University, where she was pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice with hopes of making a difference in the world.

Alyssa had a radiant smile and a gentle, laid-back spirit that touched everyone she met. She was known for her kindness, her selflessness, and her unwavering willingness to help others. Her love for her family ran deep, especially for her siblings, whom she adored and helped care for with a nurturing heart far beyond her years.

She was a fan of the Buffalo Bills, and found joy in anime and music, particularly country music.  Alyssa brought light and love to every space she entered, and her presence will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by her beloved grandmother, Mary Williams, whom she affectionately called “Granny,” and by her grandfather, Roosevelt Bowman.

Alyssa leaves behind a devoted family to cherish her memory: her mother, Sylvia Williams; her father, Antonio Peters, Sr.; her grandparents, Tressa Faye Mitchell, Carl Peters, and Priscilla Peters; her siblings, Antonio Peters, Jr., Lanyiah Williams, August Peters, Andre Peters, Alexandria Peters, and Aijhanique Peters; her godparents, Glenda and Walter Hopkins; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and many dear friends.
