Graveside services for Ms. Annie King, age 88, of Marietta, Texas, will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Spring Hill Cemetery in Douglassville, Texas, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Ms. King will lie in state from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2025, at the funeral home.
Annie M. King passed away peacefully at her home on April 27, 2025, surrounded by her loving family after a lengthy illness.
Sister Annie Myril King was born on October 28, 1936, in Marietta, Texas, to the late Mr. Arklo and Mrs. Melba King. She accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and united with Floyd Valley Baptist Church in Marietta, Texas. Later, she joined Antioch Baptist Church in Naples, Texas, by Christian experience, where she faithfully served on the Usher Board until her health declined.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Napoleon Barber, Charles E. King, Otis E. King, and Horace L. King; one sister, Nelda Sue King; and one daughter, Matricia Ann King.
She leaves to cherish her memory three sons: Crawford M. King (Velma), Ronnie D. King (Brenda), and Reginald L. King; and one daughter, Kimberly L. Henderson (Kentry), all of Marietta, Texas. She is also lovingly remembered by two special granddaughters, Lakeyia Pugh (Jonathan) and Denisha Afodewu (Elijah); two sisters, Melbalene King Hannah and Mildred L. Taylor of Naples, Texas; three brothers, Edwend L. King of Marietta, Texas, Harvey L. King (Sandra) of Texarkana, Texas, and Willie L. King (Martha) of Pittsburg, Texas; along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
