Born in: Topeka, Kansas
Resided in: Ore City, Texas

Barbara Lynn (Sanderson) Robinson, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on November 7, 2024. She was born on September 2, 1947, in Topeka, Kansas, to John and Gladys (Redding) Sanderson. Barbara’s life was marked by a deep love for her faith, her family, and a boundless spirit for adventure.

A proud graduate of the University of Kansas, Barbara’s passion for helping others led her to a dedicated career as a physical therapist. She served her patients with compassion, skill, and an unwavering commitment to their well-being. Outside of work, Barbara was an active member of New Hope Baptist Church, where her faith was a source of strength and comfort. Her love for Jesus and the KU Jayhawks was a constant in her life, and she found great joy in attending services, crafting, and caring for her beloved cats.

After the passing of her husband, Mike Robinson, with whom she shared nearly 40 wonderful years, Barbara embraced a new chapter as a world traveler. She ventured across the globe, creating cherished memories and experiencing cultures that enriched her already vibrant life. Closer to home, Barbara delighted in exploring the world with her grandchildren, whom she adored. Her love for them and for travel brought joy to their lives and created lasting bonds.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Robinson; her parents, John and Gladys Sanderson; and her sister, Margaret Scott.
She leaves behind her son, David Robinson, and his wife, Shandra; her treasured grandchildren, Austin, Kierstin, and Kayla Robinson; her beloved great-grandson, Colt “Cornbread” Chamberlain; her sister, Linda McCullum; numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews;  “BaMaw’s boy,” Elijah Marshall; and a host of church family and friends who will miss her deeply. Barbara’s legacy of love, faith, and joyful spirit will live on in all who knew her.
Funeral services for Barbara will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at Reeder-Davis Chapel, with Bro. Tony Pierce officiating. Burial will follow at Coffeeville Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Ore City. Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Barbara was always a constant on my Facebook posts. She came to see my mother bringing Lolly with her to Tennessee prior to my mom’s passing. She was a nanny to my brother Ben and I for a short time in Topeka. I remember listening to Beach Boys songs on her record player. There was a song she played often, not a Beach Boys song, “Johnny Angel.” I remember Barbara as young spirited and fun to be with.

  2. Candle 3It was always a joy to see my grandmother, Margaret Scott, visit with her beloved sisters. Thank you for always taking the time to show your support at my milestones and achievements. You will be missed!

I love you so. You were and will always be not just my Aunt, but my friend, confidante, and my rock, especially when Mom passed away. You stayed with Dad and I for almost a month after. You shared so many things about Mom, that I never knew. Your love, your strength, and compassion , says just how special you were. Say hello to Mom and Dad from me when you see them. I see many card games , sing a longs, and loads of laughter, coming from heaven.

  4. David, I saw your mom’s obituary posted on Facebook. I was going to call you but didn’t have your cell number. I wanted to express my condolences to you and your family at her passing. My prayer is that God will soon replace your sorrow with the love and memories of your lives shared together. I’m sure she and your dad are rejoicing in their reunion in Jesus presence. If there is anything I can do for you or your family, I’m always there for you. Take care buddy and God bless y’all in the days and weeks ahead.

  5. Candle 5Dear Barbara,
I love you and miss you so much! Thank you so much for your love and support for so many years. And thanks for many happy memories.
    Love you,
    Teri and Steffeni
